Blaugrana Blitz: My top 2009 moments & Training pics

Happy New Year Everyone! Although 2009 has been the most successful in the history of the club, I feel that we have a lot to look forward to in 2010!

I’ve decided to compile my top 10 favourite Barca moments of 2009:

1. Winning the Champions League

Here’s the video highlights incase you’ve forgotten how it all went down (yeah right!) with Coldplays Viva La Vida playing in the background!

2. Pep’s Gladiator-inspired motivational video for the Champions League final!

3. Messi winning all those individual awards, by record margins:

4. Beating Real Madrid at the Bernabeu 2-6

5. Beating Real madrid at the Camp Nou

6. The signing of Ibra.

A Nou Camp crowd favourite these days. He’s been scoring goals and assisting here & there. A great signing.

7. The sight of the squad + the staff drunk beyond recognition 😀 I love it!

8. Pedro. Nuff Said.

9. Gerard Pique and all those modelling stints.

We cringe at some of them, but we still entertain it nonetheless.

10. Pep Guardiola.

This man is a freaking machine. he’s tactics are always on target. He was raised at Barca, played at Barca and now coaches Barca. He is Barca.

But for a funnier side of Pep check out Pep the Comedian!

The guys trained for the last time in 2009 at the Ciudat. No major changes in the training, Lio (holiday) and Yaya (AFCON) were still MIA. Jeffren & Keita trained separately as they are nursing injurues. And the 4 kids from reserves were again present with the big boys. The only thing that was different this time was that Papa Joan Laporta came to visit the players in their locker room, just to wish them all the best for 2010. He was accompanied by Txiki Begiristain (the sporting director) who I feel should be working super hard to bring Cesc to the Nou Camp, instead of making friendly visits to the Ciudat.

It’s no rest for Pep and his men. They wiill continue their training tomorrow evening. And have another on the morning of the match.

New Manchester City coach Mancini has got himself into my bad books already. Not only is he after Mascherano, Torres AND Gerrard (I love Liverpool too), but he’s declared that he’d loved to have Ibrahimovic on his team too. Back OFF!
