• After Liverpool got K.O-ed of the Champions league last night, Rafa Benitez came out and said that had Torres been fit, Liverpool would’ve qualified. Also, he maintained that the focus of the rest of the season will be on securing a top 4 finish, as well as winning the Europa League.
• Staying with Liverpool, rumour has it that former Manchester United star Ruud van Nistelrooy is ready to make a move to Anfield. The Dutchman wants to secure a place is  in Holland’s World Cup squad, and to do so he needs regular playing time, something he is not getting at Real Madrid. Arsenal have also shown interest in him, but if reports are to be believed, he will make a move to Liverpool during the January Transfer window.
• Meanwhile, Sir Alex has found a replacement for unsettled Nemanja Vidic. Simon Kjaer has been earmarked to replace Vidic. The Serbian has 18 months till his contract runs out and Ferigie would like to sell him before losing him for nothing.
• Robinho is set to make his Manchester City comeback. He has been out since August (it’s been forever!) with an ankle fracture. During his time in the treatment room, he has been flirting with the idea of a move to Barcelona. Hughes will be hoping to play him against Hull on Saturday.
• Portsmouth have pulled out of the running to be a host city for the 2018 World Cup. The reason of their withdrawal is that funds were required to redevelop Fratton Park and their city council is unwilling to provide the money required.
