Arsenal
Johan Cryuff has gone ahead and selected Cesc Fabregas for Catalunya’s friendly against Argentina on the 22 December. Arsenal boss Arense Wenger does not seem to be impressed, and has already stated that he will not allow Fabregas to play. Wenger has all the right to stop his captain from playing as Catalunya is not an official FIFAFA nation. Fabregas is keen to play: “I’ll play for Arsenal this Wednesday against Burnley and three days after against Hull.

“After that we have a gap in the Premier League and so on December 22 I will play for Catalonia at the Nou Camp. We are going to have almost a week without any games in the English league, and I want to take advantage of this by going to Spain and playing for the Catalan team against Argentina.”

Wenger is still reeling after losing van Persie while he was on duty for Holland, and since Rafa Benitez has not granted Mascherano permission to play the friendly, Wenger is not likey to go down without a fight.
