Tidbits: Reina & Carra fist (?), Beckham with Options & more

  • Haha! So this video has been circulating the www for a few days now. Take a look at it, it’s a very nice interview from Pepe Reina about his Liverpool teammates. The funny moment was at 1:11 when he says “Carra doesn’t like me to fist him before the game.” I have no idea what he actually meant… any suggestions?

  • Staying with Liverpool, Brad Pitt has confessed he’s a Reds fan, in an interview promoting his new movie Moneyball. Angelina Jolie who is Pitt’s long time partner is a well know Liverpool fan, as is her adopted son Maddox. Source: Liverpoolfc.tv
  • Former Liverpool target Ezequiel Lavezzi who has been recently linked to Manchester City, may have his decision made for him after his girlfriend was robbed at gunpoint in Naples. The Napoli striker has been urged to make the switch by Argentina international teammate Sergio Aguero. And now it seems this could be the turning point in the situation after Yanina Screpante was robbed of her Rolex watch by two armed robbers. Sho! Source

  • I had previously reported how Tevez had gone AWOL and returned to Argentina after having what sounded like a nervous breakdown. Well the City man is now close to a switch to AC Milan. City have been keen to offload Tevez (Can’t blame them, really…) since the last time he appeared for Mancini’s side was in September. And then in October he notoriously refused to warm up against Bayern Munich for City’s Champions League tie. However, City may be stuck with him for a little while longer, since the Rossoneri are keen to bring him to the San Siro on loan rather than an outright purchase.Read it in full: The Guardian
  • David Beckham, after all these years still has the ability to keep us all guessing. After winning the MLS Cup, the former England captain has since been linked to a move back to the Premier League (Spurs & QPR). He has also garnered the interest from clubs in Italy and even Brazil. Becks has reportedly been interested in signing for Ligue 1 side Paris Saint Germain, but has thus far been pretty mum about the whole thing. His other option would be to just stay at Galaxy. Should he move, Victoria and kids will surely move with him, and given Paris is the fashion capital of the world, Posh wouldn’t feel too out of place.BBC Sport

A successful season for Beckham

  • Amid rumours and speculation surrounding Chelsea boss Andres Villas-Boas’ position at Stamford Bridge, the Blues casually mustered up a 3-0 win over Wolves. And now the players seem to be rallying behind the Portuguese boss with Juan Mata coming forward to say: “It is never easy to have a run of such negative results, but we all have a lot of faith in ourselves, in our coach, in the quality of the squad we have. ” And with regards to the managers approach he said: “We do not have any doubts about his style at all.” Well that should settle matters for a few days…GOAL.com
  • To end on a sad note, Wales manager Gary Speed has passed on at 42 years old. He was found dead in his home in Chester – police believe he hung himself, as there were no suspicious circumstances. He had a few hours previously appeared on BBC1’s Football Focus and seemed to be cheerful. My deepest condolences to his family 🙁
