The Reds’ 6 match unbeaten run came to an end with The Potters 2-0 win.
Fuller scored a somewhat scrappy goal and Kenwyne Jones sealed the deal for Stoke in the dying minutes of the game. Then Lucas was given the marching orders which signaled the end of what was a horrible night for Liverpool.
This loss is a heavy blow for Liverpool who were just finding their stride again.
This also come on the backdrop of heavy internal turmoil, with rumours of players not being happy at the club. The most recent of which is Glen Johnson criticising Roy Hodgson’s tactics, claiming they were “boring.” The DailyMail reports that Johnson wants to leave the club by January after a falling out with the boss. Hodgson heavily critised Johnson in a recent press conference saying: “To be frank, he has not performed up to now to the level I would expect of him. You would have to ask him the question, “Do you think you are playing at top form and are you playing like the best right-back in the country for your club?” If he says yes, we will have to agree to differ. And if he says No, then you have to ask the question, why not?”
But the fact remains that the majority of the players are not happy with Hodgson. And the Liverpool fans seem to have lost patience as well. When leaving the stadium after the loss to Stoke, the fans sang “Daglish, Daglish”
Here’s hoping things come good for our men in Red…
