Real Madrid’s Guti says he would welcome a move to Inter Milan “with open arms.”
“It is true that I have experienced a very beautiful stage at Real Madrid, that Madrid is a city where I have wanted to live my entire life, but now I want to leave,” he said told Canal+ television.
“It is a contradiction but I want to leave Madrid, to be in another country, in another city, to enjoy other things,” said the veteren.
Guti played in Madrid’s 2-0 win over Mallorca, he had not played since the club’s embarrassing 4-0 Spanish Cup defeat against third division side Alcorcon on October 27 when he reportedly insulted Real coach Manuel Pellegrini when he was substituted at half-time.
It was also in that match that Guti made an obscene gesture to Alcorcon fans at the start of the second half when sitting on the Real bench.
Guti’s been frequently late for morning training sessions this week. Other clubs interested in him are Bolton and Tottenham Hotspurs.
Is time up for Guti at Real?
Cristiano Ronaldo has taken Karim Benzema under his wing.
Benzema has grown close to the likes of Lassana Diarra and Ezequiel Garay, but it seems he has struck up a good friendship with Ronaldo, who has brought Benzema out of his shell. It was thought that Benzema has had trouble adjusting to Madrid, and even though Ronaldo was also a newbie, he helped the Frenchman settledown.
Also, Benzema has adopted CR9’s fitness regimen. It’s reported that Ronaldo does sit-ups at all times of the day, including when watching telly, and Benzema is now taking a leaf out of the Portugese book. He’s started by buying himself a home gym and treadmill which he uses every outside of match days 🙂
Finally: Cristiano Ronaldo has replaced David Beckham as the new face of Emporio Armani. The first batch of pictures have been released (WARNING: explicit content 😛 )
While I myself am no fan of Cristiano Ronaldo (his play-acting on the pitch has long put me off him) one has to admit that he does have the ultimate body. What with him doing a reported 3000 crunches a day, Armani couldn’t have chosen a better er, specimen to model their jeans and underwear.
Giorgio Armani said of the footballer: “Cristiano is a great-looking young man with the perfect physique of an athlete.”
“For me, he is the essence of youth – spontaneous, exciting and a real maverick. It is for his energy that I have chosen Cristiano to become the new face of Armani Jeans and Emporio Armani Underwear – for his youthful, exciting, and, yes, sexy attitude.”
